Verdun Defenders Medal. This version is by Prudhomme and  is the rarest version. Many versions were created, the most common by Vernier. The reverse side reads:"AUX GLORIEUX DEFENSEURS DE VERDUN" This is the The Verdun medal was created on 20 November 1916 by the Municipal Council of Verdun to commemorate the heroism of its defenders. Awarded to those who served on the Verdun front between 21 February 1916 and 2 November 1916.

Pretty rare item, I have seen one at the Air and Space museum in Dulles, Va, but nowhere else.  Great condition, the motors rotate on the model.  Experimental  research aircraft used to demonstrate VTOL. The model is in gret condition. The metal base is missing it's plaque.
